Position: Middle School Digital Media & Technology Teacher
Job Description:
We are seeking an innovative and tech-savvy Middle School Digital Media & Technology Teacher to equip students with essential 21st-century skills. This position will focus on computer literacy, internet safety, coding, and videography, fostering creativity and critical thinking in a dynamic learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach computer fundamentals, including operating systems, file management, and basic troubleshooting.
- Educate students on internet safety, digital citizenship, and responsible online behavior through engaging activities and real world examples.
- Introduce and develop coding skills using beginner-friendly programming languages.
- Guide students in videography and podcasting, including filming/recording, editing, and digital storytelling.
- Design engaging, hands-on projects to reinforce learning and encourage problem-solving.
- Stay updated on emerging technology trends and integrate them into the curriculum.
- Collaborate with other teachers to incorporate technology into cross-curricular projects.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity and innovation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Computer Science, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Teaching certification
- Experience in coding, digital media production, and educational technology preferred.
- Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.
- Passion for technology and a commitment to fostering digital literacy in young learners.
Experience
Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred.
