Job Description

The qualified candidates will have a working knowledge of, and experience with, educating students using proficiency - based, learner centered concepts and practices. The ability to collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum, design assessment and share best practices is expected.

This is not an all inclusive listing of the duties of this position:
1. Implement instruction from planned objectives.
2. Diagnosing and prescribing learning activities appropriate for the individual child.
3. Evaluates pupils academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports.
4. Maintaining communication with parents regarding student progress, both formally and through periodic reports and conferences.
5. To perform necessary non-teaching duties essential to the day-to-day operation of the school.
6. Maintain a professional working relationship with all staff members.
7. Assume responsibility for developing good public relations with members of the community.
8. Identifies pupil needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils solve health, attitude and learning problems.
9. Participates in curriculum development programs as necessary.
10. Participates in faculty committees and sponsorship of pupil activities.
11. Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the distinct and self-selected professional growth activities.

Job Requirements

  • Must have Maine certification as an Elementary Classroom Teacher and approved Maine CHRC at time of hire.

    Must have three current letters of recommendation, at least one from a current supervisor at time of application submittal.
  • Bachelor degree preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
