Summary
The Clinical Resource Nurse leads and manages the administrative and clinical aspects of a patient/resident care unit, collaborating with the Rehab Nurse Unit Manager to optimize resource allocation and resident care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Champion organizational change through effective communication with staff.
Foster collaboration and problem-solving across departments between units, physicians, departments, and team members.
Build strong partnerships with physicians and healthcare team.
Effectively plans and implements care processes in collaboration with care partners.
Resolve patient care issues, ensuring ethical and legal considerations.
Anticipate staff training needs and provide ongoing clinical education.
Ensure staff competency and adherence to best practices, and Promotes a positive working relationships ensure open communication and collaborative between staff and departments.
Conduct chart reviews and address medication discrepancies.
Provides/coordinates unit-based in-services on new equipment, supplies, procedures, etc.
Chart checks, Medication destruction, Pyxis issues, meditech, ECS
Create a motivating environment for professional growth and continuous improvement.
Mentor staff in conflict resolution, problem-solving, and customer service.
Empower staff while providing guidance on clinical and non-clinical issues.
Provide exceptional patient care and serve as a role model for staff.
Advocate for patients, ensuring prompt and proper treatment.
Collaborate on service recovery processes to address patient concerns.
Manage admissions, patient rounds, and family communication.
Lead quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with regulations.
Develop and implement care plans to meet patient needs.
Participate in committees and task forces to achieve departmental goals.
Maintain professional development through ongoing education.
Promote a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols.
Emphasize the importance of safety and prevention using proper equipment to staff and patients.
Supports and promotes the mission and values of Covenant Health Ministry.
Any other essential duties and responsibilities will be added between “Supports the mission” and “Other duties.”
Job Requirements
Job Knowledge and Skills
Must be able to speak clearly, read, write, and comprehend the English language.
Making sound decisions skills are required.
Organizational skills required.
Acute or skilled care experience preferred.
Computer skills and mathematical required.
Medical terminology skills required.
Education and Experience
1-3 years’ experience of nursing experience preferred or LPN with 5+ years of experience.
2-year associate degree in the field.
BCLS required.
Licensed to practice profession in the State of Maine.
An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
OSHA standards Category I, exposure to blood/body fluids or tissue. Must be able to work in a OSHA standards Category I, exposure to blood/body fluids or tissue. Must be able to work in a high paced environment where multi-tasking, prioritizing and sound decision-making skills are required. Exposed to disease, illness, infections, strains, and physical injury. Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with this position that involves a combination of sitting, (standing up to 8+ hours), twisting, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching. Lifting/carrying frequently up to 35 lbs. Lift from waist level up to 35 lbs. Lift from shoulders/head up to 35 lbs. Some stress related to high level of responsibility for quality care. Although this position is normally assigned a regular shift, flexibility is required to provide coverage 24 hours/day, 7 days per week.
