We are currently seeking a Radiology PACS Administrator to join our Imaging Team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Every staff member is responsible for creating an exceptional patient experience. Staff is responsible for communicating the mission and vision of the hospital as well as developing effective working relationships with patients, physicians, and path members.
Technical Responsibilities:
User Support and Training
Provide technical support for radiologists, technologists, and other clinical users.
Provides end user training to new staff to include technologists/radiologists include but not limited to PACS and PowerScribe functions.
Provide ongoing trouble shooting, support and maintenance of production applications in collaboration with IT.
Supports patient care by resolving radiology issues with physicians, radiologists, radiology technologists, and ancillary staff, improving quality assurance program for department functions.
Be the lead communicator of PACS issues to the radiology department, IT and IS
Identify hardware, network, and architecture issues.
Act as the primary contact for application-level inquiries.
Performs other tasks, as necessary.
Workflow Optimization
Analyze and optimize radiology workflows to ensure efficient image acquisition, processing, and distribution.
Assist with troubleshooting workflow issues and image viewing problems.
Implement role-specific settings to improve productivity.
Identify and recommend changes in system structure and technical performance, and/or policies to support the information system needs of the department.
Assist in license applications, renewals and updates of licenses and agreements to ensure compliance with rules, regulations, standards and laws
Image Management
Monitor image quality, study routing, and study reconciliation processes.
Resolve issues related to mismatched studies, duplicate exams, or unprocessed images.
Application Configuration
Manage DICOM configuration, including AE Titles, ports, and modality worklists.
Configure hanging protocols, preferences, and tools for end-users.
Identify and recommend changes in system structure and technical performance, and/or policies to support the information system needs of the department.
System Monitoring and Reporting
Track system performance metrics such as image load times and system response times.
Generate utilization reports for department leadership or quality improvement initiatives.
Provide guidance to the department in the development of technical performance that enhances or complements utilization of the PACS.
Write reports for the department using data contained in technical system analysis
Perform daily maintenance PACS functions on the system at all York Hospital facilities.
Contributes information to strategic plans and reviews.
Provides monthly statistics and assist with annual budget information.
Paragon Radiology and order management support and maintenance for imaging and breast care:
Assists Charge Master with new charges, CPT code updates, monitoring daily orders for accuracy and correct as needed, software upgrade and testing.
Assist with resolving billing concerns, associated with confirming dates of service, type of study, and completion of study.
Vendor Coordination (Application-Level)
Work with PACS vendors for application updates, troubleshooting, and bug fixes.
Test and validate new PACS features and patches before deployment.
Integration Support
Collaborate with RIS, EMR, and other healthcare system teams to ensure seamless interoperability.
Monitor HL7 and DICOM interfaces for errors or mismatches.
Education/Licensure/Certifications/Qualifications:
Associate degree or Certificate from two-year college, University, or Certificate based program.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in clinical Imaging: X-ray, Nuclear medicine, IR, CT, or MRI
5 years’ experience preferred in PACS system implementation, maintenance and support and/or application administration in healthcare environment
Required Licensed/Certification/Registration: ARRT registered or registry eligible, State of Maine License.
BCLS certification obtained within 4 months of hire and maintained thereafter.
