Join the Saccarappa Shining Stars! Saccarappa's passionate and collaborative staff is looking to add Designated Building Substitutes ("Bench Subs") to its team for the 2024-2025 school year.
A Designated Building Substitute reports to Saccarappa Elementary daily to fill various open positions throughout the building. They must commit to working 90 or more school days at the same school during the year and would be guaranteed work every day. They will be available to substitute in any open position on a daily basis. They get to know all of the students and staff in this role, which makes for a more effective and enjoyable experience when covering classrooms. They would be paid at the highest level on the substitute scale, according to their level of education and certification. CHRC (Maine DoE fingerprinting) is required, teaching certification preferred. This position is not a contract or benefits eligible position. Ideal candidates will be collaborative, positive, flexible, and fun!
Saccarappa Elementary is a K-4 school of approximately 400 learners and 80 dedicated staff. In addition to literacy and numeracy, our curriculum includes classes in art, music, STEAM, physical education, and library. Technology resources and skills are integrated across the curriculum and in all school settings. Our Title I school is proud of its knowledgeable and compassionate Multilingual, Special Education, MTSS, and Gifted and Talented programs. Staff works collaboratively to provide support for a wide range of diverse learners. Professional Learning Communities meet weekly during early releases in order to study best practices and hone the art of teaching.
