CAG is seeking a part-time Financial Analyst to work as an independent contractor in support of the firm’s sell-side advisory services. This role is ideal for an analytical and detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of financial statements, valuation methodologies, and company and market research, that prefers to work primarily remotely and seeks schedule flexibility. The Financial Analyst will play a key role in assessing the financial health of client businesses, preparing marketing materials, and supporting transaction execution.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze financial statements to evaluate client business performance and trends.
- Develop financial models and supporting schedules to assess valuation estimates.
- Conduct research on company data, industry trends, economic conditions, and competitive landscapes to assess market potential.
- Conduct research that helps identify prospective buyers that could be a fit for CAG clients.
- Prepare client marketing materials, including:
- Business history and key milestones
- Industry overview, including outlook, trends, market size, and competitive dynamics
- Business summary, covering operations, customer and supplier relationships, competitive positioning, risks, and opportunities
- Financial summaries and investment highlights
- Assist in maintaining Data Rooms and other file-sharing platforms for transaction management.
- Support client needs and transaction execution as required.
- Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field (or currently pursuing).
- CPA, CMA or other related designation a plus.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in financial analysis, accounting, investment banking, M&A advisory, or related areas preferred.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and on-line research tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and have a strong attention to detail.
