Virtual Chief Information Officer (vCIO) – Remote

We are seeking an experienced Virtual Chief Information Officer (vCIO) to act as a strategic technology advisor and business leader for a portfolio of clients. This role focuses on aligning IT investments with business goals, driving digital transformation, and fostering long-term client relationships. The vCIO is accountable for technology strategy, customer success, and revenue growth through consultative selling and IT roadmaps that enhance efficiency, security, and innovation.

What You’ll Do

Strategic IT Leadership

  • Serve as a trusted technology advisor, guiding clients on IT strategy, security, cloud adoption, and digital transformation.
  • Conduct CIO reviews to assess IT alignment, performance, and future opportunities.
  • Ensure clients maximize the value of their IT investments with best-fit solutions.
  • Help clients meet compliance and cybersecurity standards, navigating audits and governance requirements.
  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies and industry trends to offer innovative, business-driven solutions.

Customer Success & Relationship Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact for IT strategy, escalations, and business alignment.
  • Lead Strategic Business Reviews (SBRs), focusing on IT roadmap planning and security risk assessments.
  • Work closely with service delivery teams to ensure exceptional client experience and proactive IT management.
  • Assist clients with budgeting and planning IT investments, ensuring cost-effective and scalable solutions.

Revenue Growth & Account Expansion

  • Identify and drive cross-sell and upsell opportunities by aligning services with business needs.
  • Develop and execute account growth strategies, working alongside sales and technical teams.
  • Oversee contract renewals to ensure long-term client engagement and satisfaction.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of MSP services and how they benefit each client’s business.

Success Metrics & Compensation

  • Cross-sell and upsell revenue growth

  • Retention and renewal rates
  • Perception of IT as a strategic business partner

Compensation:

  • Base salary
  • Commission based on cross-sells, upsells, and renewals

What You Bring

  • 10+ years in IT leadership, technology consulting, or vCIO experience within an MSP or similar environment.
  • Strong background in IT infrastructure, cloud computing, cybersecurity, networking, and business applications.
  • Deep understanding of IT strategy, digital transformation, and aligning technology with business goals.
  • Proven success in consultative selling, customer success, and account management.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to simplify technical concepts for non-technical executives.
  • Passion for helping businesses leverage technology for growth and efficiency.
  • Preferred certifications: ITIL, CISSP, PMP, Microsoft, AWS, or Cisco.
