Maine Veterans’ Homes is an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to serving Maine’s veterans and families. We are looking for a full-time Receptionist that will be responsible for; managing the front desk operations, handling tasks such as greeting visitors, answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, directing inquiries, and managing basic administrative functions. Also responsible for overseeing and coordinating the workflow, training receptiont staff, ensuring projects and assignments are completed in a timely manner as well as a back-up for the Administrative Supervisor. The successful candidate will perform clerical duties including ensuring the safety of residents, answering a multi-line phone, word processing, maintaining spreadsheets, photocopying, collating, sorting and assisting with projects
Requirements
- Successful candidates will have a minimum of a high school diploma, as well as experience in clerical office activities.
- Proficiency in the use of general office equipment and working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel are required.
- Must be organized, confident in handling complex situations, flexible and able to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Attention to detail, good communication both writing and verbal, ability to multi-task and critical thinking skills are essential.
- Requires proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Ability to understand and respond to residents’ needs and inquiries in English is required.
- Ability to effectively understand and communicate verbally and in writing, in English, is required.
- Basic computer skills
