Waldo County General Hospital is currently seeking a full time Nurse Manager for Acute and Critical Care Services to join their leadership team!

For a limited time MaineHealth is offering up to $10,000 Sign on bonus for all eligible experienced Registered Nurses with 1-3 years of experience and $20,000 for experienced Registered Nurses with greater than 3 years of experience!

o Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time RN position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.

o Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

Summary:
The Nurse Manager works collaboratively with the Director of Acute and Critical Care to manage operations of the clinical services of the Medical Surgical Unit and Special Care Unit. Responsibilities including managing resources (human, material and financial), to ensure quality, cost-effective delivery of services for specific patient populations. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements. Recognized as a professional role model, promoting an environment that supports the goals, mission, vision, philosophy and values of the Division of Nursing Services and the Coastal Healthcare Alliance.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN required or entry into BSN program within 6 months and completion within 2 years. Master’s Degree in Nursing or other health-related field preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: Licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Maine required. American Heart Association in BLS and ACLS required. Leadership Certification preferred or within 18 months of hire.
  3. Experience: Medical Surgical and Critical Care experience preferred, with a minimum of two years supervisory /leadership experience required; previous management experience preferred.
  4. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  5. Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets complex documents.
  6. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  7. Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, employees, customers, and board of directors.
