Yarmouth School Department is looking for a collaborative and skilled K-12 Gifted and Talented (GT) teacher to work primarily with identified students in grades 2 through 8. The successful candidate will have or be eligible for a 690 Gifted & Talented Endorsement in addition to a teaching certificate, expertise in differentiation, a comprehensive knowledge of and passion for the English language arts, as well as knowledge of the arts and social studies. This position is multifaceted and includes providing direct and indirect instructional support through individual and small group instruction. The role also includes regular consultation with classroom teachers, supporting professional development specific to giftedness, and overseeing the GT screening and identification process. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and work collaboratively with teachers to support GT students as part of a holistic framework within the school community. The Yarmouth School Department, located ten miles north of Portland, Maine, serves students in Pre-K through grade 12 in four schools and is consistently recognized among the highest performing school districts in Maine, with two National Blue Ribbon School awards since 2018.
