Join a dynamic team providing long-term residential treatment to people with severe and persistent mental illness. The Living Skills Specialist (LSS) is responsible for the overall management of the assigned client’s chart, appointments, and directing the implementation of the treatment plan. The Living Skills Specialist completes frequent communication and coordination with outside providers and provides direction and coordination of care with other team members. The successful Living Skills Specialist candidate will have good written and verbal communication skills, and be flexible, organized, and attentive to detail. They will be confident in their overall ability to oversee the assigned client’s care. They will also be able to relate well with a wide variety of people and be able to advocate for the client's needs. The Living Skills Specialist will work closely with the Program Manager and Assistant Program Manager to ensure the smooth running of the program and will be expected to perform some of the functions of the Assistant Program Manager in the event of their absence, such as ordering medications arranging appointments, and scheduling staff. They will be expected to be comfortable with delegating to other staff.

Positions start at $23.90/hour (if a candidate comes with an MHRT1 starting pay is $24.40/hour).*

Minimum Requirements; *Candidates for the Living Skills Specialist should have a Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field with a minimum of one year of successful community-based mental health work, preferably with the severely mentally ill. Must complete Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician I coursework within 12 months of employment. Instead of a Bachelor’s degree, Two (2) years of relevant experience will be considered.

Open schedules will be discussed at prescreening.

Must have a valid Maine driver’s license with acceptable driving history. We do criminal background checks and driving history checks on all potential new hires.

Public Health Considerations:*

Must obtain a yearly flu shot or obtain a medical exemption. Must be up to date on MMR, Varicella, and Hepatitis B vaccinations unless cleared by a medical professional. (We will walk you through the process)
