Our client, an auto dealership in the Lewiston/Auburn, Maine area, is seeking an experienced Payroll/HR Administrator to add to their team.
This role will sit on a tenured team of professionals who handle all accounting and human resources functions for the organization.
The Payroll/HR Administrator will:
Compile weekly payroll data such as hours worked, flat rate, overtime calculations, bonuses, and commissions
Maintain payroll records for wages, PTO, vacation, and attendance
Processes all employee garnishments
Processes and maintains all required documentation for FMLA
Assist employees with insurance filings and any payroll/HR related inquiries
Prepares State and Federal payments and filings, weekly, quarterly, and yearly
Processes all insurance forms and payments
Processes all hiring and termination paperwork
Acts as worker's compensation champion, working closely with insurance company
Maintains accurate and up-to-date records for WC and OSHA requirements
Participates in resolving any employee relations issues and assists managers with disciplinary actions
Communicate with the employment attorney about any issues that may require legal assistance or advice
Assist in the day-to-day activities of the administrative office as may be needed for coverage
Participate in the hiring process including creating hiring ads for all departments and being the first contact for responses
Work closely with the department managers to create interview templates specific to the needs of the department.
Perform initial interviews and communicate results to the manager.
Contact references when necessary.

Requirements
Proven experience as a Payroll/HR Administrator or similar role.
In-depth knowledge of payroll processes and procedures
Familiarity with tax regulations and financial concepts related to payroll.
Knowledge of accounts receivable and general ledger accounting principles.
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
Strong communication skills
*Experience with technical accounting or benefits administration is a plus.
Successful candidates will have strong payroll administration experience and exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. They will have excellent organizational skills and excellent time management skills.


This is an on-site position.

Salary will depend on experience.
