The University of Maine at Augusta is seeking applicants for the position of Structural Specialist (Carpenter) Classification Level (CL) 1 or 2. The Structural Specialist will perform skilled maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, carpentry, door hardware maintenance, preventive maintenance, and grounds care to include snow removal. S/he will be responsible for securing campus buildings. The successful candidate must be able to perform manual labor, have relevant experience in commercial building maintenance work. This position requires the ability to routinely lift, carry, and move 50 pounds. Must be able to read and follow written instructions, work independently and as a team, establish priorities, maintain records using a computerized work order system, and occasionally respond to campus emergencies.

Work schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with occasional overtime and weekend hours.
Wage: Depending upon skills and qualifications of the finalist, the position may be filled as a CL1 with a wage of $13.82 per hour or a CL2 at $15.19/hour. The University offers an excellent fringe benefits package.

- Valid Maine driver's License with a clean driving record
- At least one year of relevant experience in commercial building maintenance work*

*To qualify for a Career Level 2 position, the successful applicant must also have at least three years of relevant experience in commercial building maintenance work.
