This position is located in Bath, Maine and requires on-site presence with a hybrid schedule available.

The Senior Infrastructure Solutions Architect is responsible for providing technical leadership and advanced analytics and corporate performance management services including initial assessments, capacity planning, application migration, Network expansion, designing and deploying decision support systems using associated tools. Proven communication skills, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of infrastructure solution architecture best practices are critical to successful performance in this role.

  • Understand business drivers and business capabilities (future and current state), and determine corresponding solutions to drive the organization's targeted business outcomes.
  • Work with architect and infrastructure teams to define best practices and processes as appropriate to support entire infrastructure lifecycle – Plan, Build, Deploy, and Operate such as automate lifecycle activities – self-service, orchestration and provisioning, configuration management.
  • Provides business architecture solutioning representation in support of IT infrastructure architecture activities including, but not limited to Data Center, Network, Telephony, Servers, and Storage.
  • Lead and develop application analysis for infrastructure design, capacity planning, monitoring and operational requirements.
  • Provide project leadership and ownership over all aspects of service delivery.
  • Closely partner with development partners to assess feasibility, complexity and scope of new capabilities and solutions.
  • Collaborates with the architecture and infrastructure delivery teams to ensure consistent solution design and integration.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation of network and infrastructure designs, configurations, and best practices and document technology roadmaps and infrastructure direction.
  • Ensure that all capabilities delivered align with original business objectives, service levels, IT strategies and design intent.
  • Prepares technical quality of infrastructure delivery enter/exit gates for design, integration testing, deployment and operations.
  • Drives continuous improvement including design, service strategy, and standardization of process and methodologies.
  • Ensure systems are compatible and in compliance with the standards for business IT architectures, and profiles of standards as they apply to the implementation and specific to the solution for the platform, integration with other systems, and the external interfaces.
  • Ensure Infrastructure designs account for today’s demands and future strategy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required/Preferred Education/Training

  • Four-year college diploma or university degree in computer science or computer engineering, and/or 5 years equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years architecture experience in conceptualization, definition and development of IT-based products, services and solutions.
  • This position requires you to be able to obtain a government security clearance. You must be a US Citizen for consideration and you must be able to obtain an interim security clearance within the first 45 days of hire. Required/Preferred Experience

  • TOGAF or other enterprise architecture framework experience and certification is a plus
  • Excellent knowledge of distributed systems
  • Proven experience in overseeing the linking of cross-functional applications between disparate business units and systems.
  • Experience with multi-tier systems and vendor integration
  • Experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping, methodology development, and data mapping.
  • Knowledge of relational database design and management techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of end-user needs and requirements.
  • Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Excellent oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Outstanding writing and documentation skills.
  • Able to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Able to conduct research into infrastructure issues and products.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
