Summary:
The NLH Medical Group Provider Contracting Specialist Primary responsibility for providing direct support to NLH Medical Group Administration in the area of provider contracting. Support includes, but not limited to activities surrounding letters of intent and the development of employment contracts, amendments, and memos of understanding for physicians and non-physician professional joining NLH. Assist with ensuring that providers working under an employment agreement are compensated correctly based on terms of the written contracts. Works closely with the System Medical Group and local member leadership to ensure consistency with contracting, operations and processes.
Responsibilities:
Interacts professionally with providers, and operational leaders across NLH · Maintains positive working relationship with all personnel · Participates in problem solving groups as requested · Assists with processing both employed and non-employed provider agreements · Has a working knowledge and understanding of provider employment agreement terms such as, incentives, bonuses, benefit terms, etc. · Understands medical group nuances related to individual employment agreements, job descriptions (leads, medical directors, etc.) · Assist with orientation of new practice directors/managers by providing education on contracting process (LOI, etc). · Maintain patient and employee privacy. · Uses established protocols and processes, in addition to critical thinking skills, when drafting new employment agreements or renewal agreements while working collaboratively with Legal Services and the business operations manager. · Understands thoroughly the allocation and determination of PTO, sign on and relocation bonuses as well as the appropriate use of promissory notes. · Follows established protocols when processing new hire paperwork, including RAD, bonuses, etc. · Ensures appropriate routing and approval of letters of intent and employment contracts/amendments using established guidelines. · Responsible for safeguarding physician and non-physician contracts and ensuring appropriate documentation, distribution and storage using MediRegs/ComplyTract software. · Review and document daily MediRegs/ComplyTract alerts for purpose of identifying employment contracts needing renewal 90 days prior to renewal/expiration. · Maintains reference document of employed physician and non-physician contracts · Drafts and initiates employment contracts, amendments, and memos of understanding as necessary when communicated by Change in Practice (CIP) notifications, MediRegs/ComplyTract or other means. · Works collaboratively with Provider Recruitment staff and managers in providing accurate and timely documents for interview purposes. · Works collaboratively within NLH System departments (ie., Payroll, System HR) to ensure appropriate operations, communication, and processing of new and currently employed providers joining NLH. · Follows through on problems that may hinder smooth processes with NLH provider contracting and compensation processes · Assist with processing paperwork for physician/non-physician promissory notes, as applicable. · Uses MGMA and FMV resources appropriately in communicating and documenting accurate salary information · Responsible for ensuring appropriate use and documentation of the New Employment Worksheet and InforCloud by managers. Communicates changes in InforCloud accurately. · Thorough understanding of employment compensation, including fixed splits, with the ability to identify over/underpayments and discrepancies in comparison to employment agreement. Works collaboratively with HR and Payroll staff.
