Automotive Collision Repair & Refinishing Instructor
Position Overview:
Lewiston Regional Technical Center (LRTC) is seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Automotive Collision Repair Instructor to educate and prepare students for careers in the automotive collision repair industry. This instructor will provide hands-on, industry-aligned training while fostering student engagement and career readiness.
Salary Range: $41,286.41 - $77,875.35

Responsibilities:
- Teach aspects of the Automotive Collision Repair & refinishing and basic concepts of the Composites industry, including career opportunities and workflow.
- Instruct students on industry methods, safety, equipment, and materials, covering topics such as:
- Paint & refinishing techniques (surface prep, spray gun use, mixing, matching, application, defect correction, final detailing).
- Non-structural repairs (panel prep, body panel adjustments, metal finishing, plastics, adhesives, glass & hardware).
- Integrate work-based learning in lab settings.
- Develop and assess student learning through assignments, exams, and hands-on evaluations.
- Prepare instructional materials following National and Maine state standards.
- Maintain student records, facilitate discussions, and stay updated on industry developments.
- Participate in program advisory meetings, school events, and professional development.
- Ensure adherence to IEPs and differentiated instruction strategies.
- Support institutional policies and collaborate with colleagues.
- Preferred: Knowledge or experience in composites.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Career and Technical Education
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five years of successful experience in an automotive collision repair-related position
- Associates Degree, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Career & Technical Education, Automotive Collision Repair Certificate (808), or ability to obtain Automotive Collision Repair certification through the Maine Department of Education
- National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications in B2 and B3 with Master Certified Collision Repair Technician preferred.
