Director of Curriculum and Staff Development

MSAD 15 is seeking a full time, year round Director of Curriculum and Staff Development to join our district.
The job goal is to develop and maintain curriculum and assessment and to coordinate staff development based on current best practices in education.
The Director of Curriculum and Staff Development is an essential member of the district’s leadership team supporting work to help all students and staff learn and grow district wide.
Experience as a Curriculum Coordinator or Director preferred.

Specific duties include:

· Provide leadership for developing, coordinating, and revising a comprehensive total school curriculum; including coordination of the school program from grade to grade, subject to subject, class to class, and school to school.
· Develop and direct a program of continuous assessment of student achievement and provide periodic reports on student achievement to the school board.
· Assist Superintendent and Principals in developing and monitoring building & district goals. Provide support to the Superintendent for the oversight and evaluation of the SAD 15 Strategic Plan and make yearly reports to the Board.
· Assume the responsibility for the federal grants applications and oversee the programs including hiring and evaluating personnel, evaluating programs, planning budgets, ordering materials.
· Plan, coordinate and implement Federal and State programs as they relate to curriculum.
· Direct a staff development program for educational personnel that adheres to established district priorities.
· Evaluate planned purchases of instructional materials & equipment, and implements procedures and policies regarding textbooks and library books.
· Assist Superintendent and Principals in the recruitment and selection of professional staff.
· Provide leadership and support for district-wide programs such as technology.
· Assist teachers in individualizing and meeting student instructional needs in the classroom.
· Prepare the budget as it relates to staff and curriculum development and the school nurse program.
· Disseminate information on new programs, methods, techniques, and equipment to the staff.
· Serve as the assigned staff person on the MSAD 15 Curriculum Committee.

Applicants must hold a Maine Certification Endorsement 010, 015, or 078 and have a current State of Maine Department of Education Criminal History Record Check prior to employment.
