Job Description

The Workforce Development Coordinator plays a vital role in connecting individuals with opportunities, programs, and resources to support their career and/or personal growth. This position involves developing and implementing workforce development programs, building partnerships with employers, and providing direct support to job seekers.

Position reports to the Adult Education Director.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience; bachelor's degree preferred. Prior experience in Adult Education or Workforce Credentialing a plus
  • Experience establishing and maintaining strong relationships with local businesses, employers and public/private workforce training programs
  • Experience with locating job opportunities and internship placements
  • Experience with employer outreach and recruitment
  • Experience with establishing employer advisory committees to gather feedback and ensure program relevance
  • Familiarity with Franklin county businesses and organizations with the capacity to provide workforce training and employment opportunities for adult students
  • Successful maintenance of a social media presence on multiple platforms
  • Experience developing marketing materials
  • Experience tracking and documenting client outcomes and program performance.
  • Knowledge of social service agencies and other community organizations that can assist with student referrals and funding
  • Passion, sensitivity and caring for adult education students
  • Experience with administering assessments or be willing to receive the required training to do so

Job Responsibilities:

  • Increasing enrollments within the Franklin County Adult Education catchment area and expanding employer training participation.
  • Collaborating with local and regional employers and agencies to identify and meet training needs.
  • Participating in relevant and/or required professional development opportunities as determined by the Adult Education Director.
  • Maintaining accurate and complete enrollment and workforce development records.
  • Coordinating with instructors and partner facilities for medical training and maintaining state approval status for the adult education medical training programs.
  • Being present and involved in the community, in particular at work/career fairs and relevant community events,
  • Marketing and promoting workforce development events through the use of Facebook, the Adult Education website and other social media platforms.
  • Creating and distributing marketing materials for workforce development programming and events.
  • Assisting with the development of customized workforce training programs as part of Hub 4 and the community.
  • Being available when Adult Education is open to accommodate the needs of adult education students, including during the evening and weekends.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned or directed by the Adult Education Director.

  • Excellent writing and reading skills
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Good organization skills and time management
  • Ability to understand follow state and employer guidelines
  • Work experience outside of public service employment
  • Competence in using and exploring adequate and relevant digital technology
  • Proficiency with the following software applications: Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, and Slides), Canva, as well as other office and creative applications.
  • Professionalism and respect towards all members of the community regardless of employment status.
  • Ability to create and maintain positive relationships within the community;
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team;

Terms of Employment: This position is 32 hours per week, hourly during the school-year, which includes nights and potential weekends. This position also requires some additional summer hours as determined by the Adult Education Director

Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated by the Adult Education Director

ADD: bachelors or equivalent experience.

Additional summer hours, nights and weekends may be required at times.
