Bridgton Hospital seeks Family Medicine Physicians in Naples, Maine. Family Medicine Physicians are responsible for providing comprehensive medical services to patients, regardless of age or sex, with appropriate specialist referrals, follow-up, and hospitalization. Family Medicine Physicians are responsible for providing professional medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of disease and injury to patients and assume responsibility for examining patients for symptoms and physical information ordering and executing various tests, analyses and diagnostic images to provide information on a patient’s condition analyzing reports and findings of tests and examinations and diagnoses condition of the patient, determining, administering or prescribing treatment, medication, and vaccinations to immunize patient from communicable diseases, discussing possible side effects to medication or immunization with the patient, promoting health by advising patients about diet, hygiene and methods for prevention of disease, reviewing the patient file and documenting the patient’s visit including medical history, physical exam, diagnoses and plan of action, eliciting and recording information about the patient’s medical history, and following up with the patient regarding progress in high risk or emergency cases. Family Medicine Physicians conduct physical examinations to provide information needed for admission to school, consideration for jobs, or eligibility for insurance coverage; will refer patients to a medical specialist for consultant services when necessary for the patient’s well-being; and provide supervision to nurse practitioners requiring such supervision during their initial two year post graduate supervisory period and serve as a preceptor to medical students and residents by providing oversight and instruction. Physicians provide primary care at the Bridgton Hospital family medicine practice in Naples, ME, and may provide primary care at other Central Maine Healthcare facilities within the same area of intended employment on an as needed basis, providing occasional back-up care for our patients and providers. Requires M.D. or D.O. degree; State of Maine Medical or Osteopathic License; 3-year Medical Residency, and Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine.
