ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Acquires pertinent prior images and reports for all modalities in accordance to radiologist protocols
  • Prepares and organizes according to schedule for next day, while also monitoring daily schedule for add-ons
  • Call patients to obtain healthcare information
  • Initiates requests for reports and prior images and determines urgency of request to ensure timely reporting
  • Enters orders into RIS for outside studies received that will be imported into the PACS system
  • Provides updates to department manager or coordinator on delays of film/image requests, and any difficult cases that may result in delayed reporting or interrupted patient care
  • Communicate with courier as needed for stat deliveries
  • Utilizes all forms of electronic data sharing including: InterMed PACs, outside facility PACs that InterMed can access, ITR and CD importing both incoming and outgoing
  • Receive all films/image requests and ensures timely delivery to requesting party in all imaging formats
  • Maintains film/images sign in/out function in the Utilize RIS (Radiology Information System)
  • Conducts film purging process and disposes of all documents containing PHI appropriately
  • Monitors exams requiring WET READINGS, scan preliminary report attaching to Imaging order and monitors systems for timely transcription
  • Initiates and acts as primary contact for providers with regard to missing reports and addendum requests with radiology group
  • Troubleshoots file room issues, missing films, physician requests etc.
  • Provide training in the records management process
  • Act as a resource to other departments within the company
  • Other responsibilities as directed by manager or coordinator


JOB REQUIREMENTS

SCHEDULE:

Four (4) days, 9-hour shift, 36 hours per week
