For more than two decades, Kennebec Savings Bank has mentored college students during the summer season through our well-known internship program. Since it began in 1996, the program has seen over 100 participants and was the start of a career at Kennebec Savings Bank for roughly a dozen of our 200 employees. The purpose of the Internship Program is to maximize the experience of the student intern with the intended goal of the Intern becoming a prospective employee.
We are seeking motivated and talented students to join our team as Summer Interns. The internships provide a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in the banking industry and develop key skills that will prepare them for a successful career.
Highlights of the program include:
- Leadership Breakfast Series: Interns will meet with various KSB leaders throughout their internship.
- Shadowing Experience: In addition to your primary assignment, gain a high-level overview of other depts..
- Community Involvement: Relating directly to one of our Core Values of Community, interns will have volunteer opportunities throughout the summer.
- Networking: Opportunity to network with other interns and current KSB employees through events, meetings, and projects.
Interns are positioned in various departments throughout the Bank and provided with opportunities to broaden their skill set. Internships typically take place through the summer months. Opportunities exist in, but not limited to:
- Customer Service
- Marketing
- Information Technology
- Loan Servicing and Processing
- Vendor & Risk Management
- Deposit Operations
Requirements
- Must be a High School graduate.
- Must be entering into or currently enrolled in Post Secondary Studies.
- Must have a high degree of ethics and maintain confidentiality of customers and accounts.
- Must be friendly, courteous, and sensitive to the needs of customers and coworkers.
