Oxford Hills Middle School is looking for someone who is collaborative, energetic, and passionate about math instruction to join our team as a Math Instructional Coach and Interventionist. As the Math Coach and Interventionist at Oxford Hills Middle School, you will work closely with teachers to provide high quality Tier 1 instruction and targeted support to struggling students in mathematics. You will collaborate with teachers to develop and implement effective interventions that meet the individual needs of each student. You will engage in professional development planning and coaching cycles with teachers to help implement best practices in our math classrooms.

OXFORD HILLS REGION

The Oxford Hills School District (MSAD 17) comprises the towns of Norway, South Paris, West Paris, Oxford, Waterford, Harrison, Hebron and Otisfield. MSAD 17 shares vocational resources and accepts students in its Oxford Hills Technical School programs from the RSU10 School District towns of Buckfield, Hartford and Sumner. Oxford Hills/Nezinscot Adult Education is located within the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.

The Oxford Hills offer a variety of outdoor resources for anyone wishing to enjoy the region, whatever the season. The area boasts more than ten lakes and ponds for outdoor recreation, a land trust with hundreds of acres for skiing, snowshoeing, and is in close proximity to several downhill skiing areas! Expectations of Oxford Hills School District Staff:

JOB DESCRIPTION

Candidates must hold a valid Maine certificate or the ability to obtain one with appropriate

endorsement(s).

Reports to: Building Principal

Work Schedule: 180 Day Contract

Responsibilities Include:

  • Coach math teachers to support implementation of high quality math curriculum and instruction
  • Help design professional development sessions for math teachers.
  • Plan Tier 2 Intervention curriculum.
  • Support teachers to implement Tier 2 Intervention curriculum
  • Attend K-12 Math SAC meetings
  • Collaborate with other math coaches/leaders across the district
  • Prior experience with math coaching/leadership NOT required. On the job development in these areas will be provided. This includes regular meetings with other district coaches that focus on support, collaboration and professional growth.

Experience:

  • Three plus years teaching middle school math.
  • Preferred - experience collaborating with math colleagues.

Oxford Hills Middle School serves approximately 500 students in grades 7-8. OHMS has two campuses located about 2 miles apart, one in South Paris and one in Oxford. The successful candidate will be passionate about math instruction, student achievement, and best practices.
