The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for supporting and assisting the HR Manager in the administration and oversight of the Home’s benefit and personnel matters according to MVH policies and procedures, applicable laws, regulations and standards.

  • Files all human resource, payroll and benefits forms and other documents in appropriate employee files.
  • Maintains file information in an organized, confidential manner following MVH policy and procedures and state and federal guidelines.
  • Provides support in processing bi-weekly payroll
  • Responsible for organizing employee orientation packets
  • May participate in new employee orientation
  • May assist with background and reference checks and licensure verification on all potential new hires.
  • Responsible for distributing and tracking performance evaluation
  • Assists HR Manager with Open Enrollment, Benefits Fairs
  • Performs other reasonably related duties as assigned

Experience and Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate or Bachelor degree preferred
  • Entry-level knowledge of Human Resources preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Excellent organizational and communication (verbal & written)
  • Time management
  • Ability to maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality
  • Ability to successfully interact with all levels of staff, residents, their families and external customers
