About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our Newport location at 118 Moosehead Trail, Suite 5, Newport, ME 04953. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing primary care to patients of all ages, with a focus on family medicine, pain management, clinical assessments, geriatrics, pediatrics, and patient safety. You will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure our patients' highest quality of care.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current Nurse Practitioner license
- Master's degree in Nursing
- Experience in family medicine, pain management, and geriatrics
- Strong clinical assessment skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in pediatrics.
- Experience in a hospital or clinical setting.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school or an accredited nurse practitioner program.
- Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure in the state of Maine.
- Current nurse practitioner certification in a specialty area.
- DEA registration.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) provider cards, as well as Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) provider card, as required by the department and facility.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting physical exams and medical histories
- Diagnosing and treating acute and chronic illnesses
- Prescribing medications and treatments
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests
- Educating patients and families on disease prevention and health promotion
Skills:
As a Nurse Practitioner, you will utilize your strong clinical assessment skills and knowledge of family medicine, pain management, and geriatrics to provide high-quality care to our patients. You will also need excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively educate patients and families on disease prevention and health promotion. Additionally, experience in pediatrics and a hospital or clinical setting would be beneficial in this role. Overall, your expertise in nursing and patient care will be essential in ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.
