Job Description

This position is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level; working closely with senior HR management as well as all levels throughout the company. The HRIS Section Manager will carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: HR Information Systems (HRIS and HR Audit and Compliance Support).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the HRIS team providing management, review, and support as needed.
  • Ensures all HRIS systems function as required and seek ways to enhance BIW’s HRIS posture in direct alignment with BIW IT strategy.
  • Advances data analytics utilization and capability.

Required/Preferred Education/Training

  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Required/Preferred Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in multiple human resource disciplines including HRIS strongly preferred.
  • Ability to both architect and execute complex data analyses.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle PeopleSoft, Tableau (Desktop, Prep, and Server), Infor Workforce Management, Cornerstone OnDemand, or related HRIS platforms required.
  • Experience managing HR systems in a unionized workplace required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Must be self-motivated, detail oriented, capable of working independently and also be effective in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational, project management, problem solving and time management skills are required.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of applications required.
  • Flexibility to adjust work tasks and work schedule as needed to accomplish objectives is required.
