Full job description Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled, organized and detail-oriented Part-Time Phlebotomy instructor to support the Pre-Apprenticeship Healthcare Pathway Program. The ideal candidate will have a strong phlebotomy background, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive environment. This role is essential in this grant funded position as part of our Department of Economic and Community Development to advance the support of equitable workforce preparation for among racial, ethnic, and linguistic participation minorities in Maine.
Salary: $35/hr

Experience & responsibilities:
  • At least two (2) years of practical work experience in phlebotomy within the last 5
  • years
  • Hold a current Phlebotomy Certification
  • Prior instructional experience, especially for a Phlebotomy program
  • Experience working with Multi-Lingual adults
  • Conduct comprehensive instruction in phlebotomy for aspiring phlebotomists
  • Cultivate a positive, encouraging, and safe learning environment for students during
  • lecture and all clinical drawing portions
  • Encourage and support students throughout the program to ensure successful
  • completion
  • Deliver curriculum in a clear and easily comprehensible manner
  • Manage onsite inventory and classroom cleanliness
  • Adhere to district policies and procedures, including classroom documentation
  • Productive attendance and timeliness to all scheduled classes
  • Teach highly engaging live classes on a PT schedule as determined by the Assistant
  • Director
  • Keep students informed of their progress by promptly grading assignments, skill
  • assessments, competency evaluations, and other tasks
  • Communicate regularly with students over email and other community tools
