As the welcoming face of the Brown School, our School Clerk plays a vital role in keeping the school day running smoothly. From the moment students, staff, and families enter the building, the clerk is there to greet visitors, answer and direct phone calls, and ensure clear communication across the school community. The clerk supports the principal and staff by maintaining accurate school records and files, preparing and distributing correspondence, and handling mailings related to the daily operation of the school. The clerk also manages the computerized attendance system, updates student records and class lists, and assists with the registration of new students. In this role, the clerk orders and maintains supplies and equipment for the office, processes purchase orders, and contributes to the school’s budgeting process. They also maintain the school checkbook and manage incoming and outgoing mail. Additionally, the clerk coordinates logistics for field trips in collaboration with the transportation department and arrange substitute coverage when needed. The clerk may also provide important health related support by administering medication and delivering first aid in accordance with school policies. High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Previous secretarial experience in a school setting preferred. CHRC required
