Applications are accepted in February for the Maine Government Summer Internship Program for summer 2024. Positions will be available in departments of the Maine state government and in town and city governments throughout the state. Full-time, paid internships will run May 28 through August 16, for a total of 12 weeks. Job areas include education, engineering, conservation, media and communication, law, data analysis, finance, environmental science, human resources and many more.
The internship program comprises 45+ different internships. Most positions are based in the Augusta area. A number of internships will be available in other locations of the state. In the past these have included Bridgton, Caribou, Gray, Saco, Union, Sanford, Bethel, Presque Isle, Bangor, Rockland, and more.
Students apply online, submitting a cover letter, resume and unofficial transcript. To be eligible, students must be completing at least their second year of college and be either a Maine resident or attending a college or university in Maine. Graduating seniors and graduate students are eligible. All majors may apply. The application deadline is March 3, 2024.
