Our client, a financial services company located in the Greater Portland area, is looking for an ESOP Analyst to join their dedicated ESOP team within the larger organization.
The ESOP Analyst will play a key role in providing comprehensive trustee services to clients, supporting ESOP Client Advisors with tasks such as reviewing valuation reports, monitoring ?nancial reporting, assisting with special projects, and aiding with other general trustee functions. This position offers an opportunity to grow while making meaningful impact within a collaborative and specialized team.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Build familiarity with the ESOP team’s portfolio of client companies. Gain insight into each client’s business, including quantitative and qualitative factors.
Expand understanding of evolving issues and trends in the ESOP industry and valuation. Attend (mostly virtual) and document client meetings and internal team meetings.
Aid ESOP Client Advisors in the examination of clients' quarterly ?nancial statements and results summarizing ?ndings and identifying any areas requiring further attention.
Assist ESOP Client Advisors in the review of client’s annual valuation reports, including extraction of key ?nancial metrics and valuation data in Microsoft Excel.
Analyze valuation drivers and factors impacting value. Contribute to team’s overall understanding of trends and potential issues.
Document the process of approving annual valuations, including diligence memoranda, for ?nal approval. Review and summarize client quarterly Board of Director’s minutes.
Follow up with clients on various annual diligence items and assist with ad hoc client needs and requests. Lead and assist in special projects.
Enter and track internal trustee processes in Microsoft Access. Identify ways to improve/streamline internal processes.
Participate on the Company’s internal ESOP Fiduciary Committee as a non-voting attendee.
Attend ESOP conferences, as needed, and become a representative of the company within the ESOP community. Continued education in ESOP industry trends, administration, and valuation. SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years in a role providing exposure to financial analysis, valuation, fiduciary services or any combination.
- Fundamental to intermediate understanding of financial statements.
- Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills, knowledge of Microsoft Access is a plus
- Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, strategically prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently, as well as in a team setting.

Compensation for this position will be based on experience.
