Under the direction of the Executive Director of Human Resources, this position performs a variety of analytical and technical duties in support of assigned Human Resources functions; provides assistance to prospective and current personnel; participates in the on boarding and processing of new personnel to include benets administration and ensuring that all staff meet license, certication and credential requirements; provides information and assistance to employees, administrators, job applicants and the general public regarding personnel functions, District policies and procedures; prepares and maintain a variety of personnel les, records and reports in accordance with established laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; process stipend and differential requests. The Human Resource Analyst is customer service oriented and responsive to the needs of past, present, and future PPS team members. This is a full time, year round position.
This is a non-represented hourly position; 8 hours/day with a projected annual salary of $70,000-$85,000. The position includes a generous benefits package, including paid holidays, vacation, medical and dental benefits, and more.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
KNOWLEDGE OF:
Practices and procedures related to personnel
Personnel ofce functions, practices, policies and procedures
Basic payroll procedures
Recruitment and stafng procedures
Diversity, equity and inclusion practices in Human Resources
Applicable laws, codes, rules and regulations
Maine certication requirements and processing as assigned by the position
Record-keeping and report preparation techniques
Operation of a computer and assigned software
Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary
Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy
Modern office practices, procedures and equipment. Telephone techniques and etiquette
ABILITY TO:
Perform a variety of technical duties and provide assistance to prospective and current personnel
Interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures related to personnel
Prepare and maintain a variety of records and reports
Answer telephones and greet visitors courteously
Perform clerical duties such as ling, typing and duplicating
Type or input data at an acceptable rate of speed
Work and communicate in a multicultural environment
Operate a variety of ofce equipment including a computer and assigned software
Determine appropriate action within clearly dened guidelines.
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
Work confidentially with discretion
Meet schedules and timelines
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to: four years of increasingly responsible clerical or human resources experience involving frequent public contact; college-level course work in business, human resources or a related eld preferred.
Bilingual Preferred
Experience working in multicultural and/or diverse communities or school systems
Ability to coordinate and collaborate with diverse groups of professionals across multiple departments and organizations to achieve unied, consistent practices
Highly responsive and oriented towards transparency and proactive, explicit communication.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with schools/departments
English language prociency required. Multilingual prociency preferred.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:

staff meet license, certi?cation and credential requirements; provides information and
assistance to employees, administrators, job applicants and the general public regarding
personnel functions, District policies and procedures; prepares and maintain a variety of
personnel ?les, records and reports in accordance with established laws, rules, regulations,
policies, and procedures; process stipend and differential requests. The Human Resource
Analyst is customer service oriented and responsive to the needs of past, present, and future
PPS teammembers.
This is a full time, year round position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Work with Human Resources staff, district staff and site based staff on a variety of
issues
? Provide detailed information regarding employment opportunities, salaries and
District employment procedures
? Analyze transcripts, work experience, and other documents to determine initial salary
placement
? Process initial salary placement as well as salary changes for new and current
employees
? Create and distribute offer letters, initial contracts, and continuing contracts to
applicable staff
? Complete School Board Personnel Reports
? Work with the Executive Director of Human Resources and district staff in the
creation, implementation, maintenance, and training of updated programs and
processes to include human resources management systems, digital systems for
conducting the hiring, processing, and personnel ?le maintenance for all employees,
and other technology-based support modules
? Operate a variety of of?ce equipment including a computer and other standard of?ce

equipment
? Utilize assigned human resources software system to input and extract data related to
employees
? Participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars as assigned for the purpose of
conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions
? Advise employees regarding HR programs, practices, and procedures. Regularly called
upon to interpret and implement collective bargaining agreements
? Respond to requests for employment veri?cation
? Process stipends and differentials
? Run reports as needed for internal and external requirements
? Adhere to employment laws and regulations for the purpose of maintaining
compliance with current legal requirements
? Communicate and coordinate with the Maine Department of Education and other
external agencies to ensure compliance
? Compose, prepare, type and distribute correspondence, forms, records and other
assigned personnel reports; review materials for compliance with District policies and
other applicable rules and regulations
? Maintain detailed permanent records on assigned employee groups including name
and address changes, job location, job assignment, grade, step and lane, professional
growth, salary and additional salary compensation
? Receive and process transfer requests
? Notify payroll and accounting of pertinent information
? Assure proper valid and current credentials and licensure of applicants and employees
as assigned by the position
? Support employees with credential applications
? File emergency credentials and waiver requests with the State
? Monitor and track employee credentials, certi?cations and licensing on an on-going
basis
? Noti?es employees of expiring credentials, certi?cations or licensing
? Work in conjunction with the payroll department to ensure accuracy in salary
placement, position control, and employee payments
? Coordinate, prepare, and maintain various departmental, legal, and employee ?les and
records
? Performs a variety of essential record keeping duties, including creation and
maintenance of seniority lists and EEOC reporting
? Act as liaison to Maine Department of Education on credentialing, certi?cation and
licensing issues
? Perform a variety of technical duties and provide assistance to prospective and current
personnel
? Resolve personnel-related issues and concerns with discretion and con?dentiality;
refer dif?cult or sensitive issues to supervisor as needed
? Contact candidates selected for employment; prepare and explain employee

paperwork, ?ngerprint (CHRC) information and physical exam paperwork; follow-up
on clearance of ?ngerprints (CHRC), physicals and other pertinent employment
information; prepare and explain forms and other information; provide information
regarding vacation days, sick days, bene?ts and other District policies
? Provide assistance to the public; screen visitors and phone calls; take and relay
messages as appropriate
? Provide bene?ts orientation for new employees, including meeting with employees to
assist with initial bene?ts selection and sign-up in the district’s HRIS system
? Maintain good relations with internal customers and constantly respond to a variety of
employment and bene?ts questions
? Performs hiring procedures, including preparing payroll change notices for new hires,
changes and terminations
? Prepares Service Tickets for new employees
? Compose, prepare, type, and distribute correspondence with newly hired personnel to
include offer letters and initial contracts where applicable

OVERTIME ELIGIBLE: Yes. This is a non-represented hourly position; 8 hours/day with a
projected annual salary of $70,000-$85,000.
