Summary

Working in a supportive role under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician IV– Outpatient Infusion Therapy – MMCP role functions at the highest level and performs the daily preparation of nonhazardous and hazardous parenteral injections for pediatric and adult patients. This role is also responsible for specialized medication procurement and inventory control of medication and non-medication supplies. This role serves as a technician leader, mentor and trainer for other pharmacy technicians.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education:. Associate’s Degree preferred.
2. License/Certifications: Current or eligible for applicable state(s) license as a Pharmacy Technician. CPhT or PTCB certificate required within one year of hire and maintain.
3. Experience: Five years of experience as a pharmacy technician in healthcare or related environment required. New hires with greater than five years of experience will have six months to meet Pharmacy Technician IV essential functions. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Pharmacy Technician III role.
4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Able to meet requirements of sterile compounding within three months of hire.
