The City’s Permitting and Inspections Department seeks a full-time Housing Safety Code Enforcement Officer for compliance with Maine Uniform Building and Energy Code (MUBEC), National Fire Protection Association Codes (NFPA), Zoning and other applicable building codes and standards as it relates to the inspection of residential rental properties. In partnership with various regulatory agencies, the code enforcement officer candidate will share the responsibilities to assure safe housing. The position works independently in the field and as part of the Licensing and Housing Safety Division team with three other field inspectors. Fostering positive relationships with landlords and tenants is a key objective, while also ensuring safe rental housing.
