Full job description
SUMMARY: The Student Resources Manager will play a pivotal role in the Next STEP
program by co-creating programming with community partners to ensure students have the
necessary resources and skills for high school success. This position focuses on developing a
comprehensive "readiness" model at Next STEP, fostering a supportive and inclusive
environment, and enhancing student engagement and resource access.
SALARY: $57,323.00 - $74,046.00
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and/or RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned
Daily/Weekly responsibilities:
- Daily Meetings with Readiness Team: Facilitate daily meetings with the Next
STEP readiness team to discuss daily enrollment, programming support, and
internal metrics for success.
- Lead Attendance Improvement Strategies:Conduct daily outreach based on
the Daily Attendance Tracker to support attendance improvement strategies for
students and families; designed to increase attendance/engagement of students
above 70%
- Participate in Staff Meetings:Participate in and contribute to the agenda of staff
meetings, including internal and external school meetings with the Longley
School Director.
- Develop Systems for Information Access:Collaborate with Next STEPs
accountability team to develop systems that improve access to information,
education, and training for all Next STEP community members at Longley.
- Serve as Liaison for Special Populations: Act as a liaison for
homeless/transitional youth and multilingual families, ensuring they receive
appropriate support and resources.
- Mediate Conflicts: Mediate conflicts and foster dialogue to resolve disputes
within the school community (as they come up)
- Provide Community Advocacy: Advocate for the community with schools and
other agencies to ensure students and families receive necessary support.
- Maintain Confidentiality and Professionalism: Uphold confidentiality, ethics,
and a professional demeanor in all interactions and responsibilities.
Monthly/Semesterly responsibilities:
- Facilitate data collection: Facilitate the administration of student and family
cultural surveys at the beginning and end of each semester to gather insights
and assess the school’s cultural climate in collaboration with the Longley School
Director
- Event Leadership: Lead the planning and coordination of three family events at
Longley per year, ensuring these events address the diverse needs of all families
and provide authentic, culturally relevant opportunities for meaningful
engagement with school staff
- Build and Maintain Community Relationships: Develop and sustain
relationships with community organizations to provide students with access to
essential resources, including mental health services, extracurricular activities,
and career exploration opportunities.
- Design and Implement Communication Strategies: Develop and execute
strategies that enhance communication between students, families, and school
systems to foster meaningful engagement.
- Develop Student-Focused Professional Development: Collaborate with the
Longley School Director to co-design and deliver three professional development
sessions a semester, aimed at deepening cultural understanding and equipping
staff to support students' academic and social-emotional needs.
- Create and Sustain Pathways for Student Engagement: Work with the Next
STEP team to develop clear and sustainable pathways for students and families
to re-engage with high school and work towards graduation; with the goal of
100% of families participating in a “pathways meeting” by end of the year
- Engage Students with Chronic Absenteeism: Co-develop processes and
initiatives to engage students demonstrating chronic absenteeism, working
closely with the Next STEP attendance team to improve attendance rates.
- Enhance Access to Resources: Design streamlined processes to enhance
access to information, resources, and training opportunities for students, families,
and staff.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree
College credits are subject to an international transcript analysis.
3-5 years work experience in community-based organizations or youth-serving
organizations preferred
