Job Summary

Under the direction of the Manager, Compensation, the Compensation Analyst supports the development, analysis, implementation, and administration of Wipfli’s compensation programs and strategic initiatives on base pay and variable pay programs. Collaborates with all levels of leadership to provide expertise in solving complex business challenges while supporting the overall compensation strategy.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Participates in salary surveys and performs analysis and market research to develop and maintain innovative, compliant, and market competitive compensation programs.
  • Helps in driving full life cycle of compensation activities including salary increase benchmarking and design, budget setting, administration of salary planning cycle, and communication.
  • Supports the business by acting as a primary compensation point of contact, engaging as a consultant and advisor, to proactively act on talent challenges and providing end-to-end client service on compensation-related matters.
  • Evaluates the organizations jobs, documenting responsibilities and requirements in job descriptions. Responds to inquiries and issues involving compensation, market competitiveness, job leveling, and job description maintenance and development. Ensures compliance with FLSA.
  • Supports the administration of the compensation review cycle, including merit increases, promotions, incentive and bonus programs. This includes data management and data integrity, calculations, and employee communications.
  • Provides direct support for human resources (HR) systems activities, including preparing data for submission, testing, validating, auditing, and reporting.
  • Develops pay dashboards and other analytics, as needed.
  • Participates and/or leads special projects that drive the firm’s attraction and retention initiatives, including acquisition integration, organizational restructuring, systems enhancements/changes, etc.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field
  • 2+ years of experience working in a professional environment in a compensation analyst role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CCP certification preferred
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred
  • Experience presenting complex information to non-technical audiences

Wipfli supports equal pay for equal work and values each candidate’s unique experiences and skill sets. The estimated pay range for this position is: $66,000 - $89,000. Compensation within the range is determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, individuals' skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications, business needs and applicable employment laws.

Individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, subject to participation rules and based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual and Firm performance.
