Middle School 8th-Grade ELA Teacher (Anticipated)
Gorham Middle School is seeking a motivated and student-centered educator to join our 8th-grade ELA team. The ideal candidate brings content knowledge, is collaborative, and has a genuine enthusiasm for working with young adolescents.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in ELA to students in grades 6?8
- Use data to inform instructional decisions and support student growth
- Collaborate with grade-level teams to support student learning, behavior, and well-being
- Communicate proactively with families and maintain accurate records in the gradebook
- Participate in school-wide initiatives, professional development, and team meetings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; Maine educator certification required or anticipated by start date
- Eligible for Maine certification in at least one of the following:
- English Language Arts (100) under Middle Level Teacher (5?8) or Secondary Teacher (6?12)
- Elementary Teacher (020) K?8 endorsement
- Experience working with middle school students preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaborative skills
