Job Summary
St. Mary's Health System, a member of Covenant Health, is hiring for a Phlebotomist in our busy Laboratory! The Phlebotomist contributes to accurate and timely diagnosis of patients' medical conditions by collecting blood specimens from patients for testing purposes. They will serve as the primary point of contact for patients, providing clerical services which assure the exchange of necessary information between patient and treatment provider and coordinating ancillary services associated with meeting patient health care needs.
Responsibilities:
Collect blood specimens by venipuncture, meeting expectations with respect to the minimal number of draws required and volume of test performed
Collects blood specimens by specialized methods
General phlebotomy skills
Order laboratory tests
Clerical/receptionist duties
Education and Requirements:
High School diploma or GED
Successful completion of phlebotomy course
1-year previous experience
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
