Department: Radiation Oncology

Position is located:Northern Light A.R. Gould Hospital

Work Type: PRN

Hours Per Week: 40

Work Schedule: No Hours Assigned

Summary:

Radiation Therapist performs simulations, treatment setups, and radiation treatments on the linear accelerator machine. The Radiation Therapist participates in all aspects of daily departmental operation including patient care, continuous quality improvement, quality control, and record keeping activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs radiation oncology procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and procedures within standard time frames.
  • Maintains equipment in good operating condition and operates equipment according to department and manufacturer’s recommendations.
  • Provides patient education and orients patients to their treatment course. Is cooperative and helpful in a clear and courteous manner to co-workers, staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Maintains and exhibits a current knowledge of radiation oncology therapy and participates in continuing education.
  • Participates in Tumor Conferences and Radiation Oncology Conferences by assisting the Radiation Oncologist.

Other Information:

The Rad Tech- Internal Travel/RAD will work as needed to cover permanent therapist's time off.

Credentials

  • Required Radiologic Tech-Radiographer

Education

  • Required High School Diploma/General Educational Development (GED)
