Responsible for direct total nursing care of patients including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation within the policies and procedures standard in the Critical Care Unit. The ICU RN will plan and deliver care for acute adult and geriatric medical and surgical patients, coronary patients, and in rare cases, infant, pediatric and adolescent patients. The ICU RN will provide after hours post-anesthesia recovery care. The Telemetry RN will provide care for those patients assigned to his/her unit. The ICU RN will maintain skills in detection and management of all aspects of intensive care, including use of specialized equipment and procedures.

Requirements
Education, Training or Certifications Required:
1. Current Maine licensure as a registered professional nurse.
2.Current BLS, ACLS andPALS.
3. Critical Care/Code Blue Course.4 TNCC, CCRN, NALS encouraged.
5. Critical Care Course can be 1:1 with Division Director during orientation.
Experience Required:
1. Recent training/experience in medication administration and nursing process in an acute care setting.
2. Recent critical care experience and CC course preferred prior to application.
Special Requirements:
1. Familiarity with IS computer system and Monitoring System.
2. Familiarity with CCS specific equipment and medications.
3. ALS procedures and policies.
Cognitive Requirements:
1. Emotional maturity and good people skills required.
2. Able to take in, process and apply clinical information in a wide variety of patient care situations.
3. Ability for high performance under stressful situations.
4. Must be able to prioritize, multi-task and follow through.
Physical Demands:
1. Able to sit, stand and walk for an 8-12 hour shift.
2. Adequate hearing, vision, speech and manual dexterity.
3. General health must be such as to regularly work scheduled hours.
4. Able to lift and carry 25-50 pounds (assisting patients in and out of bed, etc.).
