You will play a pivotal role in showcasing stunning visual narratives while navigating the complexities of artistic presentation.

This position involves active participation in both the primary and secondary markets, with a strong presence in photography. You will work closely with the director and take the lead role in overseeing the gallery assistant by leading and supervising, managing workload while maintaining gallery standards and presentation.

The gallery also showcases paintings, sculptures, and jewelry.

Duties:

1. Ensure smooth running of the gallery.
2. Responsible for maintaining and improving the commercial success of the art gallery.
3. Liaise with visiting artists and negotiate sales.
4. Organize, promote, and supervise exhibits.
5. Develop and maintain relationships with artists and clientele.
6. Develop and extend client list/database.
7. Implement marketing strategies while working closely with the director.
8. Keep up to date with industry developments and market trends.
9. Work with community calendar events such as talks, music, wine, and reading.

Knowledge Requirements:

An art gallery manager should possess the following skills:

1. Good knowledge of photography.
2. Ambitious and dependable.
3. Comfortable with sales.
4. Ability to prepare gallery spaces for installations.
5. Knowledge of Photoshop and printing photographs on Epson printers.
6. Familiarity with Mac and Word, and knowledge of computer applications.
7. Experience with ArtCloud database (training will be provided).
