Intensive program
The Westbrook School Department is seeking full time Educational Technicians I, II, or III's. The positions will be for the 2024-25 school year. The positions will require supporting students with a range of needs, in grades K-4, within the special education and general education settings. The positions require the ability to work with students at varying levels academically, socially, and emotionally. The qualified candidate will be given: competitive salaries and benefits, three college courses paid each year (University of Maine system rate), continued professional development, and opportunities for summer employment. The candidate will become part of our devoted, friendly, and collaborative special education team.
Special Education
Westbrook School District Special Services Department provides student-centered instruction to support the diverse learning needs of students districtwide, in grades kindergarten through high school. Our innovative and dedicated staff employ evidence based literacy and mathematics programs to promote student success. We offer programming and a variety of related services across a continuum of settings. These programs foster a learning community that supports student’s academic, social-emotional, functional, and pre-vocational needs. Saccarappa
Saccarappa Elementary is a K-4 school of approximately 400 learners and 80 dedicated staff. In addition to literacy and numeracy, our curriculum includes classes in art, music, STEAM, physical education, and library. Technology resources and skills are integrated across the curriculum and school settings. Our Title I school is proud of its knowledgeable and compassionate Multilingual, Special Education, MTSS, and Gifted and Talented programs. Staff works collaboratively to provide support for a wide range of diverse learners. Professional Learning Communities meet weekly during early releases in order to study best practices and hone the art of teaching. We are proud of the partnership we have with our families, the Saccarappa PTO, and many other community members who make Saccarappa School a special place to teach and learn.
