We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR Assistant to support our client's human resources operations on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have experience working within Paychex, particularly in setting up and managing document templates. This role will also assist with employee onboarding and offboarding, as well as developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) to streamline HR processes.

Job Title: Human Resources Assistant (Part-Time)

Location: Portland, Maine (Hybrid / Flexible Schedule)
Hours: Approximately 10–12 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and maintain HR document templates in Paychex.

  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding employees, ensuring a smooth and compliant process.

  • Develop and update HR SOPs and related documentation.

  • Support small HR projects as needed, such as file organization, compliance reviews, or data updates.

  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure accuracy in all HR records and communications.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience using Paychex is required.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple small projects.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Previous experience in HR administration or support is preferred.

Schedule & Work Environment:

  • Approximately 10–12 hours per week.

  • Flexible schedule, with some in-person work in Portland, Maine.
