JOB SUMMARY: The Nutrition Aide assists in the kitchen area prior to, during and after meals are served. Assists in maintaining kitchen work areas; keeping equipment, utensils and food plates clean and orderly.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
v Maintains the confidentiality of all patients.
v Ensures that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
v Consults with the Nutrition Assistant on what foods to be prepared for the patients.
v Prepares production sheets, label and date.
v Assist in serving meals and pouring beverages.
v Prepares and serves in between meal nourishment snacks.
v Assists in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies/procedures.
v Cleans work tables, meat blocks, refrigerators/freezers, food storage, etc.
v Empties dumbwaiter and wash daily.
v Sweeps and mops floors as needed.
v Performs dishwashing/cleaning procedures. Assures that utensils and other cooking equipment are readily available for meals.
v Carries out garbage and keeps work areas clean, dry and free of equipment, supplies, etc.
v Follows safety regulations and precautions at all times.
v Immediately reports all hazardous conditions/equipment to their supervisor.
v Immediately reports all accidents/incidents to your supervisor.
v Disposes of food and waste in accordance with established policies.
v Reports missing/illegible labels to their supervisor.
v Completes annual education requirements in required time frames.
