UNE looks to expand connections and nurture meaningful engagement with the University from our alumni and stakeholders. The Assistant Director of Alumni Programs develops and executes the programming and communications which engage UNE alumni with the University and fellow alumni. Collaborate with Institutional Advancement (IA) colleagues and UNE faculty and professional staff to develop outreach strategies and create content for alumni programs. Analyze impact and reach of new programming, as well as the efficacy of existing offerings, and create new strategies based on this analysis. Coordinate alumni engagement and outreach strategies to advance UNE and IA goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

Essential functions of the position:

  • Oversee the creation and realization of a wide variety of engagement opportunities tailored to the unique interests and needs of alumni and stakeholders.
  • Plan and carry out signature events, such as Homecoming and Milestone Reunions, ensuring high-quality experiences that strengthen alumni ties to the University.
  • Collaborate with faculty and professional staff across colleges and departments to identify engagement opportunities that leverage academic or subject matter strengths.
  • Develop and implement marketing and outreach strategies in collaboration with the Institutional Advancement communications team.
  • Develop and implement strategic engagement and communications programming for young alumni in collaboration with the Advancement Engagement Officer and Assistant Director of Next Generation Giving.
  • Establish metrics and assessment tools to analyze the impact and reach of alumni and stakeholder programming, utilizing findings to inform the development of new strategies and initiatives.
  • Assist with other Institutional Advancement initiatives as assigned.
  • Regional travel and attendance at several night and weekend events required.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s or associate degree, plus one to three years of relevant program development and/or fundraising experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.

  • Strong organization, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Skilled at interpersonal relationship building and problem-solving.
  • Experience working with varied software and digital platforms including Microsoft Office Suite, email distribution applications, project management software, and customer relationship management database systems.
  • Must be a self-starter with a willingness to take personal initiative to manage a project; must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience working with various technologies including advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, mass email applications, database and project management software, and CRM systems.
  • Ability to understand and communicate the mission and goals of a private university.
