This is only open to those with promotional status in the Department of Health and Human Services.

Core Responsibilities:

This is professional services work of a managerial nature. Responsibilities include:
• directing, reviewing, evaluating, and determining the effectiveness and efficiency of regional
enforcement program operations;
• using available technology and reports to provide operational statistics to supervisors to manage unit compliance;
• monitoring and coordinating support enforcement activities for Southern Maine;
• ensuring the consistent application of program policies, practices, and procedures;
• oversees training of regional staff;
• implementing new/revised program policies, guidelines, and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

In order to qualify, you must have a Bachelors Degree in Business/Public Administration, Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, Accounting, or a related field and four (4) years’ experience in support enforcement to include at least two (2) years supervisory experience. Directly related experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
Preference will be given to applicants with supervisory experience within the Division of Support Enforcement & Recovery.

The Office for Family Independence is responsible for administration of eligibility determination for a number of programs, including MaineCare, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Food Supplement and Child Support.

The Division of Support Enforcement and Recovery (DSER) is responsible for the development and implementation of the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures necessary to assure that all non-custodial parents are contributing to the economic support of their children. Program responsibilities include establishing paternity, locating missing non-custodial parents, and establishing and enforcing child support orders and representing the Department’s interest in the Maine District Court and the Family Division of the Maine District Court in matters pertaining to child support.
