Job Description
This is a full time, benefits eligible, school year position, pending budget approval.
Duties for this opening would be as follows (not an inclusive listing):
1. Teaches courses in mathematics to secondary pupils utilizing course of study adopted by the Board of Education and appropriate curriculum publications as guidelines in teaching individual course content.
2. Instructs pupils in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district.
3. Develops lesson plans and appropriate instructional aids stressing "discovery" and laboratory learning models.
4. Demonstrates mathematical concepts by use of models, chalkboard, and standard or teacher-prepared charts, sketches and other instructional aides.
5. Provides individual or small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of pupils and to accommodate circumstances where a variety of projects and experiments are being worked on simultaneously.
6. Designs learning activities that will relate mathematics to the physical world.
7. Selects and requisitions books, instructional aids, and instructional supplies; maintains required inventory records.
8. Evaluates students growth.
9. Participates in curriculum development.
10. Supervises students in out of classroom activities during assigned work day.
11. Communicates with parents.
12. Shares in the sponsorship of student activities such as mathematics teams, and participates in faculty committees.

Job Requirements
- State of Maine Teacher Certification with endorsement 300 and an approved Maine CHRC at time of hire. Selected candidate will be subject to a criminal history background check.
- Bachelor degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required
