Description

College of the Atlantic seeks a consultant who will lead a bias response team and facilitate a community-wide process that creates the infrastructure resulting in updated and current policies and procedures that enable and ensure the College’s timely, ethical, and effective response to incidents of bias. The right individual will embody the following knowledge, understanding, experience, and abilities:

    Knowledge and understanding of the impacts of biased conduct in educational and work environments based on disability, gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, national origin, language, socioeconomic status, and religion, as well as skills in evidenced-based practices to prevent and respond ethically and effectively to incidents of bias on personal, interpersonal, and institutional levels.
    Experience with creating and/or revising policies and procedures to support and ensure compliance with institutional policy and procedures in higher education student affairs and/or human resource contexts.
    Understanding of federal and state non-discrimination laws.
    Able to handle private information sensitively and with integrity.

Reports to the Dean of Student Life
$35/hr, approximately 20 hrs/wk, through June 30, 2023
