Job Summary: The Accountant will become an engaged Business Office team member
while completing key job functions. Responsibilities also include contributing data and working
collaboratively with the Controller and Chief Financial Officer to analyze trends, costs, and
revenues.
Essential Duties:
- Ensure that all business is conducted in an ethical and professional and timely manner.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the accounting, voucher and employee time management systems.
- Assist in audits of monthly fiscal reviews.
- Maintain internal controls.
- Assist in preparation of annual financial statement audit and provide timely responses to external auditors.
- Assist Controller in preparation of annual Cost Reports.
- Monthly preparation of miscellaneous receivables.
- Assist with maintaining and operating a cost accounting system.
- Assist with annual budget process and monthly reporting.
- Provide back up support to Payroll Accountant and Accounts Payable Clerk as needed.
- Monthly bank statement reconciliation on all bank accounts.
- Assist in annual Chargemaster Analysis.
- Complete quarterly financial reports for Caribou Hospital District and Jefferson Cary Foundation.
- Communicate frequently with Controller regarding issues or concerns.
- Assist the Chief Financial Officer and Controller in daily operations as needed/requested.
Other Responsibilities:
- Complies with local, state, and federal laws and regulations
- Other duties as assigned.

- Must be flexible to work occasional evenings and weekends.
- Must be able to work during the week, weekends, or evenings as the need arises.
Education, Skills, Experience Requirements:
- Must be able to organize, prioritize work and meet deadlines.
- Must have adequate interpersonal, writing and telephone skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business is preferred.
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
- High degree of organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with community coalitions and teams.
- Ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Computer skills are needed for word processing, databases and spreadsheets.
- Ability to maintain a budget.

Organizational requirements:
- Reports to work on time and as scheduled.
- Wears identification while on duty.
- Uses computerized punch time system correctly.
- Adheres to Appearance and Dress Code policy, appearance is neat and tidy:
a) Fingernails must be clean, neatly manicured and of reasonable length. Artificial nails
may not be worn in identified areas per Infection Control Policy.
b) Makeup and jewelry should be worn in a conservative and tasteful manner. Jewelry
should not present a safety hazard or interfere with job performance.
- Maintains and ensures patient confidentiality at all times.
- Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.
- Adheres to safety policies as evidenced by in-service attendance records and employee practices.
- Maintains regulatory requirements (i.e licensing, certification).
- Attends staff meetings, reviews monthly staff meeting minutes of missed meetings.
- Parks in designated employee areas.
- Does not exceed 3% unscheduled absences.
