Central Maine Healthcare is seeking a Health Promotion Coordinator to join our Healthy Androscoggin team!

This is a Full Time, benefits eligible position

Job Summary: The general function and responsibility of this position is to provide state-of-the-art expertise related to substance use and obesity prevention, health promotion, outreach and education activities as part of Obesity and Substance Use prevention grants. All prevention grants are working toward decreasing substance mis/use among youth and adults; promoting changes that make active living and healthy eating the easy choice; increasing access to places for physical activity; supporting breastfeeding best practices in health care systems, at worksites, and within the community and building collaboration between community entities. The Coordinator will report directly to the Health Promotion Manager. This position will be required to keep detailed records for reporting and evaluation. The candidate will work independently, be well-organized, and possess a strong attention to detail. Travel is required throughout the Western Public Health District and occasionally to statewide trainings in a central location.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Provisional Prevention Specialist Certification or willingness to obtain certification required.
  • Prior medical office experience and knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with data entry/keyboarding preferred.
