Job Description

The Senior Supervisor will directly oversee Capital and MRO procurements across the business and lead a team of buyers who day-to-day procurement activity. The successful candidate will manage all aspects of procurements including sourcing, RFPs, cost and terms negotiations, contract management and deliverables, KPI management, and policy compliance. They will also serve as the primary point of contact between the Supply Chain and Capital/Facilities departments.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of Capital and MRO buyers.
  • Develop procurement strategies to meet company objectives.
  • Oversee issuance & evaluation of RFPs, supplier negotiations, and contract awards.
  • Collaborate with Legal team on terms & conditions evaluation/negotiation as well as other legal issues and business risk.
  • Conduct procurements in accordance with company policies & FAR guidelines as applicable.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers, monitor vendor performance, and quickly resolve issues impacting the business.
  • Perform market research and advise internal stakeholders of market conditions.
  • Act in a project-leadership capacity with cross-functional stakeholders that may include Capital, Facilities, Engineering, Design, Production Planning, Training, HR, Medical, or Production stakeholders.
  • Monitor key performance indicators, ensure metrics are aligned with company goals, managed service levels with supplier.
  • Collaborate with other GD business units to leverage collective purchasing power and best practices.
  • Lead and manage complex procurements.
  • Mentor, guide, and develop team members.

Required/Preferred Education/Training

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience; master’s degree preferred

Required/Preferred Experience

  • 5+ years Supply Chain or Procurement experience.
  • Construction Management and/or Facilities experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a highly-regulated industry such as DOD contracting preferred.
  • Experience interpreting technical statements of work (SOW).
  • Capable of independently negotiating pricing and terms with technology providers.
  • Financial acumen to develop price analyses and ensure adherence to budgets.
  • Ability to build relationships across all departments and levels within organization.
  • Above average skills with Microsoft products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required.
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to prioritize daily workloads and multi-task in a fast paced environment required.
