Work Schedule: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

This position is eligible for a $10,000 (minus tax) sign on bonus that is paid out incrementally.

Summary:

In collaboration with the Director of Nursing, the Employee Education Nurse is responsible for organizing and implementing standardized competencies, education, and onboarding. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining accurate employee education files both hard copy and electronically. The Education Nurse is responsible for all administrative tasks associated with maintaining the facilities on-line education system. The incumbent assists in the development of educational programs and maintains the facilities education calendar and onboarding schedule. The Education Nurse assists the clinical leadership team in supporting collegial relationships across the organization and promotes interdisciplinary collaboration relative to clinical and professional practice. The incumbent may have access to highly confidential employee, patient and/or facility proprietary information, and must handle and protect the information in accordance with facility policies, Northern Light Health policies, HIPAA requirements and the highest level of ethical standards. Performance reflects the mission and values of Northern Light Continuing Care. Be a part of the facilities Education Council and Northern Light Health's HealthStream Administrators' Group.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains tracking system to capture and record staff orientation and skilled competency documentation.
  • Organizes and facilitates new employee general orientation.
  • Administers the facilities on-line education platforms including course content, annual assignments, troubleshooting, and regular completion reports to leadership.
  • Collaborates with leadership to schedule orientation activities for new staff and maintains agency education calendar.
  • Coordinates programs and educational materials to accomplish identified objectives.
  • Provides administrative support for General Education and Development department including attendance sheets, event registrations, and communication of events.
  • Accountable for establishing a process through which documentation of orientation / education is completed for all employees in a timely manner and accessible for employment file review/retrieval.
  • Registers employees for workshops etc., records attendance in education records, and works with DON to track against budget.
  • Participates in the organization and execution of the annual competency fairs.
  • Assists in department meetings and taking minutes to guide action items.
  • Assists with staff education and training.
  • Performs administrative tasks associated with the operations of department and/or organization.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
